Karin Blythe is an epic student of life. When tough times knocked her down she got back up kicking and swinging. Along the way she developed a very important skill - to find humor even in hardship.

Since Karin didn’t grow up with the cookie-cutter, dream childhood she is clued into impacting a child's world through rich stories connected to her own experiences.

-She loves to sleep late, laugh hard, and read good books

-Her favorite food is anything with cheese melted on it.

-Karin is the world’s worst athlete, a horrible dancer and not the best cook in town.

Most of her report cards said, “Karin is a capable student but she talks too much.“ She decided that her schoolteachers were probably right so she grew up to become a professional speaker and a comic. That’s what she has been doing for the past 15 years. Now she has decided to put her hand to writing for kids.

Many grownups say that they have an “inner-child.” That means that even as they got older a little part deep inside of them remained a child.

Oddly enough Karin does not have an “inner-child.” She has an “inner-adult” because her inner-child refuses to ever go inside and behave.

Now she is 51 years old, happily married to Jim Blythe, a mom of 3 grown daughters and grandma of 8. Having 8 grandkids is better than eating ice cream everyday for breakfast!

She loves to play word games with her hubby Jim like Bananagrams, Upwords, and Boggle.

If she could live out of a suitcase she would. She loves to travel!!! Karin has been to England, France, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Mexico, Canada, Ethiopia, Kenya, Israel, and Jordan. Her favorite home away from home is Kenya! She has visited 27 of our 50 states in the USA so far.

She gets a kick out of meeting all kinds of people, all ages, all sizes! Karin is a history junky and a news nerd. She reads the news everyday to keep up on the latest around the globe.

From her grandma Harris she inherited tiny feet. Even though she is a grownup she wears size 3 kid’s shoes! So most of her shoes have bows and pink sparkles.

Karin believes that it’s never too late to have a happy childhood. She thought it might be a great idea to pass on a few life lessons and help kids to find laughter even in tough times. So that brings us to this project… Monkey Brains Books!

After living in Southern California for the last 25 years she and Jim have moved to Nashville, TN where she will swat mosquitoes, sweat like a pig and focus 100% of her energy on Monkey Brains Books.
